This holiday season, the Bowling Green branch came together to support the local Salvation Army through a backpack and blanket drive focused on helping those in need right in their own community.
The effort was led by Bowling Green team member Kelsey, who was inspired by OPC’s Thanksgiving drives over the past several years and wanted to continue giving back in a way that would make a heroic impact on both our customers and the local residents. Kelsey reached out the Salvation Army director to see if the team at OPC could help out. Blankets were a major need, especially during the colder months, along with backpacks for individuals who often don’t have a reliable way to carry personal belongings and toiletries.
With that guidance, Kelsey pulled together a holiday drive with a thoughtful twist. She shared an Amazon wish list with OPC team members and a few community contacts. This brought in generous donations, including several anonymous ones. A donation tote outside the Bowling Green office filled twice with after-hours and weekend drop-offs, and the branch supplied wrapping materials so every item could be delivered during the week of Christmas.
In total, the team delivered 88 wrapped items, including 40 backpacks and 48 blankets. Each gift was labeled so individuals could receive what they needed most.
“Giving back to the community is everything,” said Kelsey. “Without the community, we wouldn’t have a business. It’s important to show that we truly value the people we serve and the places we’re proud to call home.”
This holiday drive reflects OPC Pest Services’ continued commitment to supporting local communities, not just through service, but by showing up and giving back where it matters most. It’s the definition of not only making a heroic impact but being essential – together. Thank you to the entire team, along with Kelsey’s coordination for truly being remarkable.
Happy Holidays!
