Lexington is a city and the house seat in in Fayette County. Lexington was named in June 1775, in what was then considered Fincastle County, Virginia, 17 years before Kentucky became a state. A party of frontiersmen, led by William McConnell, camped on the Middle Fork of Elkhorn Creek (now known as Town Branch and rerouted under Vine Street) at the site of the present-day McConnell Springs. Upon hearing of the colonists’ victory in the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, they named the site Lexington. It was the first of many American places to be named after the Massachusetts town.
Lexington clearly has a rich history, but it’s also a tourist destination. Take a tour of the Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.. Race around on go=karts, play some mini golf, bowl some frames, and play some laser tag at Malibu Jack’s. Make sure your camera is charged when you walk the grounds of the Arboretum State Botanical Garden of Kentucky. After a full day like that, let someone else take care of dinner! We suggest heading over to Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse and treating yourself to duck confit crepes and the steak and lobster. Every year, people flock to Lexington to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Lexington, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.
