RECRUITING ICE BREAKERS & TIPS
Have you ever walked out of the diner raving about the server you had? Did you visit a local big box store and been shocked by the excellent customer service you received? Do you love working at OPC Pest Services?
Replace diner with any retail store and the big box store with any place you have face-to-face interaction with a customer service rep. If you said yes to any of those questions, then you could be recommending team members to our HR department! Not only could that person give OPC customers excellent service, but they could work for a company that provides their employees with competitive benefits and a career – not just a job. Want to reach out to someone to RECRUIT? Here are some tips:
- Open the conversation with recognition of their work and/or character. Offer a compliment and thank them for the excellent service.
- Ask if they are looking for a career. Without putting down what they are doing now, ask if they are looking for a different opportunity.
- Tell them why you love working at OPC Pest Services. You can’t argue with passionate enthusiasm – especially if it’s real.
- Talk about the OPC culture and how at OPC you are not a number and you are not just an employee – you’re a family member.
- Tell them what opportunities exist at OPC. “You’d be a perfect fit for a ________!”
- Keep your business cards handy and give one to the recruit. Let them know they can reach out to you.
Be sure to tell the person you are speaking to that someone from the OPC Pest Services Human Resources department will be reaching out to them. Part with encouraging words and an additional compliment about their work ethic.
*The following are not eligible for the referral bonus: Branch Managers, Branch Manager Trainees, Supervisors, Service Managers, Service Manager Trainees, Region Managers, Region Manager Trainees, Regional Sales Managers, Human Resources, and the Leadership Team. You will receive $200 upon hire, $400 upon 90 days of employment, and $400 upon 9 moths employment.
