Pest Control in Newburg, KY

Newburg is a former census-designated place in Jefferson County. The area now called Newburg was settled in the 1820s by four German families, and was a small village called Newburgh a decade later. The ‘h’ was dropped, and the modern spelling emerged as the name of the post office by the end of the 19th century. Newburg has historically had a black population, once centered on the nearby Petersburg area, at the junction of Shepherdsville and Newburg Roads. By 1851, Eliza and Henry Tevis operated a 40-acre farm in the area. After the Civil War, freed slaves bought land in the area and started farms. Into the 1900s, Petersburg and Newburg were still surrounded by farmland. Newburg at some point had become the chosen name for the area, most likely because it was the name of the post office. Suburban sprawl reached the area by the 1960s, and it became popular with those leaving the city for the suburbs.

Newburg clearly has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. Do some mega zips, take a mega tram, or do a mega quest at Mega Cavern. Have a laugh at the The Caravan Comedy Club. Try your luck at the Derby City Gaming Hotel, but remember the house always wins. Stay for dinner, though! We suggest treating yourself to a meal at Oliver’s Chop House & Bourbon Bar. Get the chargrilled oysters, the lobster bisque, and the cowboy rib eye. It’s not easy to choose from the sides so order several. But don’t miss the truffle parmesan fries and the gouda mac and cheese. Every year, people flock to Newburg to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Newburg, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.
