Showing Up for Your Community

Giving back to our community has always been a part of who McGee Pest Control is. As an OPC Pest Services company, we’re proud to say that commitment continues to show up in meaningful ways.

Recently, the McGee team partnered with the Murray-Calloway County Need Line, a nonprofit organization committed to providing food support and essential resources to local families in need. Bringing together employees, customers, and community members, the McGee team worked together to collect food items to help stock the Need Line food pantry.

For Branch Manager Tommy Adkins, the decision to work with Need Line was a great way to give back directly to the community McGee calls home. “Since 1959, our company has been a known business in the community,” Adkins said. “We wanted to contribute to a non-profit that really helps out the communities we continue to serve.”

The food drive quickly became a team effort, with food items coming in through social media outreach, customers stopping by the office to drop off goods, and employees encouraging one another to get involved. Because they know you can’t be your best self by yourself.

“It feels good when everyone rallies to help us fulfill the needs of the community,” Adkins shared. “It’s really an amazing thing to see people send in canned goods, respond to us on social media, or just stop by the office to drop items off and say thank you for doing this.” There really is strength in unity, and the team and their friends and neighbors really exemplified that.

Need Line expressed their appreciation in two thank you letters sent directly to the McGee Pest Control team, recognizing donations totaling more than 75 pounds of food and canned goods. The letters highlighted how these contributions will support weekend Back-Pack meals for children, monthly food boxes for seniors, and additional programs that help families when they need it most!

“It shows that we truly care about our communities and the people who live here,” Adkins commented. “At the end of the day, if we can come together to do the small things, we can be remarkable, make a heroic impact, and show our values through our actions.”

Through community initiatives like this, McGee Pest Control and OPC Pest Services continue to show being a trusted local business means more than providing pest control services – it means showing up, giving back, and helping strengthen the communities we call home.
